Covid-19
manorhaus Ruthin & Greenbank Lodge Llangollen (including the self-contained cottage in Llangollen) has achieved the Visit Wales/Visit Britain Covid accreditation ‘Good to Go/Barod Amdani’ which certifies we have new processes in place to meet government guidelines to be Covid-aware.
All our room rates are ROOM Only - manorhaus Ruthin is able to serve Breakfast in the dining room with prior reservation slots priced at £12 per person Unfortunately due to space constraints and Covid Regulations, Greenbank Lodge Llangollen is not able to offer breakfast dining - however there are numerous great chef's serving breakfast within a minutes walk.
Below are some of the measures we have introduced:
We will do our very best to ensure we provide the same level of service and experience our guests have come to expect - whilst ensuring safety guidelines are met.
WE HAVE PUT TOGETHER SOME FAQs:
What happens if i develop symptoms while staying at manorhaus?
If a guests displays signs of the Covid-19 virus while staying, they should inform us, immediately self-isolate where they are to minimise any risk of transmission, and request a test. If they are confirmed to have Covid-19, they should return home if they reasonably can. They should use private transport but only drive themselves if they can do so safely. If a guest cannot reasonably return home (for example because they are not well enough to travel or do not have the means to arrange transport), their circumstances should be discussed with an appropriate health care professional and, if necessary, the local authority. Guests should follow government guidance on dealing with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. If the guest cannot return home, the guest will be expected to pay all costs.
I would like to make a booking:
We are taking bookings as normal via our website - BOOK RUTHIN or BOOK LLANGOLLEN
I had a booking during government lockdown:
We are able to offer a credit note for any booking made on a pre-paid contract during the government closure valid for a 12 month period from the original reservation. Please use the booking reference from your original booking to apply the credit.
I have a booking coming up:
We are operating in a new ‘normal’ and you will receive an e-mail before your stay with specific instructions and information that you will need before arrival to undertake safe, remote, check-in and instructions for parking and accessing your room.
What happens if i develop symptoms and need to cancel or a second wave means manorhaus has to close?
This is something none of us want to happen, but if it does and you are unable to come for your holiday we will issue you with a refund or we will move your booking to an alternative date. We will be asking all guests to complete a short pre-check in questionnaire prior to arrival.
PLEASE NOTE, ALL NEW BOOKINGS MADE DIRECT WITH US (via this website, email or phone) ARE FULLY FLEXIBLE AND IF YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR PLANS DUE TO COVID-19, WE ARE HAPPY TO MOVE YOUR BOOKING TO LATER THIS YEAR OR ANY TIME NEXT YEAR.

Rick Steve’s Great Britain
Manorhaus rents the classiest rooms in Ruthin. The eight rooms are impeccably appointed with artsy-contemporary décor, and the halls serve as gallery space for local artists. Guests enjoy use of the ... mini-cinema in th cellar, free wi-fi and recommended restaurant:
Manorhaus is the town splurge, with updated Welsh and British dinners served in a mod, art-gallery space.
Fodor’s England with the best of Wales
Manorhaus. A Georgian town house in the heart of Ruthin has been converted into a simply stunning boutique hotel. Each entirely original room is a mini-art gallery, designed and decorated in colloboration with the artists whose work hang on the walls. There’s also a library, gallery, private cinema, and restaurant serving fresh, locally sourced food.

Every once in a while a place comes along that redefines conventional notions of accommodation. Having said that, there are at least two challenges with manorhaus. How to describe it? And how to fit it all into a review of 200-odd words? We have to start with the owners, Gavin Harris and Christopher Frost, because it is their passion for art and architecture that defines this unique building. Manorhaus is variously described as a restaurant with rooms, boutique hotel and art gallery. It combines these roles seamlessly. On entering, there’s a gallery space featuring changing exhibitions by contemporary artists and designers. But that’s just the start of the art. It infuses the entire building. It’s tempting to say that the bedrooms are works of art in themselves. Each one has a theme, taking as its inspiration a particular artwork that is then cleverly replicated in the décor. But at least as inventive is the way in which cutting-edge interior design has been playfully and professionally blended into the Georgian fabric of this fine old townhouse. All the must-have luxury items are there – the Egyptian cotton bedlinen, fluffy duvets, robes, upscale toiletries and fabulous bathrooms. And, to complete the picture for guests, there’s a library ... and private cinema. Back downstairs, there’s more: a split-level bar and conservatory restaurant where, again, the accent is on contemporary taste informed by the traditional values of fresh, local ingredients.

A Welsh boutique hotel that complements its city-slicker image with great food and roaring fires
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I will admit to a twinge of doubt about manorhaus before I set off. There's something about the combination of the words "boutique" "art gallery" and "North Wales" that brings out my latent South Walian suspiciousness. (I'm from Cardiff, where it's traditional to regard North Wales in roughly the way the rest of Britain views Murmansk.)
And the website doesn't allay my fears: it's a city slickers' sort of a place, that looks to have been airlifted straight out of Shoreditch into Ruthin, an unassuming market town in the Vale of Clwyd, between Snowdonia and the English border.....
THE LONDON EVENING STANDARD
Awed by artistic Welsh wizadry
A Rainy night in Chester. Not a great song title perhaps, but a reasonable summing up of our predicament one wet night after disgorging from the packed London train. The taxi whisking us across the Welsh border to the boutique comfort - and shelter - of the Manorhaus in Ruthin got lost....

TASTE TEST • Fine feast awaits at journey's end
"But why are going all the way to Ruthin?" the babysitter asked. Fair question really, as it's a 40-mile round trip for us and there are plenty of places to eat closer to home. But it was my husband's birthday and we were in the mood for something out of the ordinary....
